This workshop is designed for primary and secondary educators who want to learn more about combining the arts with active opportunities. It explores practical, engaging examples of how to connect two of the most creative elements of education in fun, sustainable, and meaningful ways.

Schools’ Active Relay

Schools’ Active Community Coach is working with Luton charity Level Trust to deliver a town-wide active fundraiser, aiming to engage as many education settings, community groups, and businesses as possible in a week of challenges and movement!

Building an Active School Culture workshop
Date: Tuesday 17th Feb 2026
Location: Mosquito Way, Hatfield
Schools’ Active Community Coach is leading a 2-hour workshop designed for primary school PE Leads, Family Workers, and school leaders.
The workshop explores a range of practical ways to build activity into your school community beyond PE lessons.
Examples include: adapting existing provision to create active opportunities for staff, building partnerships with community groups, incorporating active trips, and developing engaging fundraising challenges.

Past Event Highlights
Staff 5k Fun Run
In School Event
Staff took on a 5K route in the local park after school, raising funds for Cancer Research. Pupils and community members came out to cheer them on, showing incredible support for their teachers and this fantastic cause.
The event also helped staff reconnect with their love of running!
York to Luton Bike & Hike
Community Event
Six members of staff completed an incredible two-day cycling challenge, finishing at a local football club where they were met by more than 100 community members.
Together, they hiked back to the school, creating a powerful shared experience.
The event not only raised vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support but also brought the entire school community closer together—leaving lasting memories for everyone involved.
Capital City UK Ride
Community Event
Six riders took on an epic relay from Luton–London–Cardiff–Edinburgh–Luton in just 3.5 days!
The challenge pushed staff to their limits, showcasing teamwork and determination, while inspiring pupils and the community to pursue their own goals.
Funds were raised for Clic Sargent, and the event finished with a 30km staff hike and a family 5K trail, bringing the whole community together in celebration.
Luton School Run
Town Wide Event
In support of a local charity, over 800 teachers from more than 30 schools each completed 60 minutes of activity at home during lockdown.
Together, they raised over £30,000 to support virtual learning in Luton, a true example of how many hands make light work!
